Cleaning Teflon* Heaters

Scaling or chemical particle build-up can occur on Teflon* heaters in spite of Teflon's slippery surface. This coating acts as an additional insulation to trap heat and cause heater burn out.

Low Liquid Level Can Expose the Heater's Hot Zone

Never try to scrape or hammer off sedimentation on your Teflon heater.

  • Clean buildup off by spraying or squirting the material with a pressurized hose.
  • Clean buildup off with a chemical dip such as acetic acid or muriatic acid, where applicable.
  • Develop a regular schedule for cleaning your heater.

Heat Star Systems and its affiliates are not responsible for heater failure due to buildup or scaling.
