Tech AdviceLow Liquid Level Can Expose the Heater's Hot ZoneHeat Star heaters are provided with thermal fuses or bimetallic thermal cut-off switches. In addition to the low liquid thermal cut-off sensors, conductivity low liquid sensors are availabe for additional protection to prevent damage to Teflon* sheath over heater elements.
The exposed hot zone can cause tank damage from fire hazards and melt the Teflon* coating on the heater whenever the hot zone is exposed. Always allow your Teflon* to cool down for 15 to 20 minutes before removing it from its tank. Neither HeatStar Systems nor its affiliates will be reponsible for damage resulting from low liquid and improperly maintained thermal cut-off sensors or level controls.
